Guess what?!?!
Today was my husband birthday. And of course I wanted to make him something special to celebrate it. I planned it few weeks earlier. But it turned out yesterday he has to go to cemetery to do Cheng Beng (Chinese rituals to pray for the ancestors, clean up the cemetery, etc.) with his family.
As the proverb say: if you can't beat them - join them; that's what I did. I joined the big family who gathered together after the rituals. Went to my sister in law's house and we cooked and ate together. It was fun.
I made him some cupcakes then I arranged them in the cupcakes stand and those cakes fitted the stand beautifully! I made some cupcakes with decoration from butter cream and sugar dough, made the words HAPPY BIRTHDAY from it. It turns out quite nice... the nieces and nephews were eager to eat it (^_^)
Well, I didn't cook anything yesterday actually, just baking those cupcakes. For you who wanders what would I be cooking, here goes:
* Birthday Noodle with quail eggs (of course, it's a necessity for the birthday one to eat noodle and eggs)
* Chinese Barbecued Pork
with some
*Mixed Vegetable Stir Fry
I still have years to come to do those, I think....
